Grounding…..What is it? Why? And How?

Before tuning in to an animal for a session, I GROUND myself so that I am fully present in my body, mind, and spirit. This clears all pathways to receive messages from the animal.

Some may ask, What is Grounding and Why do I do it? Grounding is reconnecting your energy with Mother Earth’s energy. Sometimes, I am too much in my head with schedules, deadlines, and lists of things to do. By balancing out my emotions and being more centered, I am able to come from a more open heart space of love rather than stress. Grounding has been known to reduce anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, chronic pain, and/or inflammation.

Some of my Favorite Ways to Ground:

  • Walk barefoot - on the grass, sand, soil

  • Get into Nature - absorb the 5 senses

    • Feel the wind blowing through your hair

    • Listen to the birds chirping

    • Hug a tree

    • Smell the aroma of fresh cut grass

    • See the sun glistening on the water in a river

  • Plant some flowers in the garden

  • Visualize your favorite place - maybe the snowcap mountains or a white sand beach

  • Submerge your self in a body of water - the ocean or lake

  • Make a cup of tea

  • Sing

  • Dance

  • Laugh

There is also grounding equipment; such as grounding mats, socks, sheets, etc.….
